Special exam periods
Courses with the examinees of the current year are to be submitted with a request via In-Bar during the year, no later than one month prior to the exam period.
Bachelor’s degree assignment submission – will be available as an In-Bar request shortly. Until then such a request should be submitted using this form.
Special exams, if approved, shall take place in the following time frames:
Together with the regular exams for courses in the academic year that follows the year the student took the course.
- For courses that are not given in the current year, a special exam period will be set.
- For courses that are required for students to advance to the next year of study, the possibility of an early special exam period (Moed Gimmel) shall be considered after Moed Aleph and Moed Bet, before the coming academic year.
- Students who were on reserve duty – Reserve duty – Dean of Students Office. [Hebrew
- Absence due to a qualifying event (fertility treatments, pregnancy bedrest, etc.) – Parenthood and gender – Dean of Students Office.
- For semester-long courses given in the same format in both semesters, Moed Bet of the first semester shall be given together with the Moed Aleph of the second semester.
- For all courses given at the Department of Economics, exam dates for special exam periods including courses required for students to advance to the next year of study, shall be on the same dates that regular exams are held.
- Students granted permission to take an exam in the subsequent exam period or a special exam period even though they were not strictly eligible for it, since their reasons for absence from the exam were not considered justified*
- will be required to pay an exam fee (the fee in 2021-22 was 85 ILS)** at the rate and under the conditions laid out by the Bar-Ilan institutions. Such grants shall be limited to a maximum of five courses and will be given only in the year following the one in which the course was taken, at the discretion of the Status Office.
**This fee will not be waived nor credited to another request under any circumstances, even if the student does not actually take the exam in the special exam period granted. Charges for exam fees and incurred charges (10% of tuition and all corresponding obligations) are in accordance with Bar-Ilan University’s Tuition Policy Handbook
Important note: Students granted permission to take an exam in the subsequent exam period or a special exam period even though they were not strictly eligible for it, since their reasons for absence from the exam were not considered justified* , will not be automatically eligible for a special exam period even if they miss the exam in the subsequent / special period granted to them for a reason considered justified.
